Salt Gate (Pension Aqua Maria)

The Aqua Maria complex (in the village of Veľaty) has been in operation since the 1960s. The original function of the complex was a car camping, but in recent decades the area has taken the form of a recreation area, which is connected to the historical spring in the village - Slaná Voda (Salt Water). It is already managed by the fourth generation of the Rusňák family, and the area provides accommodation (in cabins, but also in a boarding house), restaurant services, a bicycle depot and sports playgrounds (handball, volleyball and children's playground).

The village of Veľaty is located in the district of Trebišov, in its south-western part, close to the Hungarian border, from which it is only separated by the neighbouring village of Michaľany.

The swimming pool offers its visitors 3 pools with salt water. One of the pools is 25 m long and is intended for adults, the other one is 10 m long with heated salt water for children, and for the youngest ones, there is a children's pool with a water amusement attraction. In addition to outdoor pools, the area also offers indoor wellness with a 9 m pool, saunas, and a whirlpool. These also operate on the basis of salt.

Less than 12 km from the guest house in the village of Malá Tňa, there is a watch-out tower in the shape of a wine barrel. Visitors will also be pleased with the telescope located here, along with the gazebo and the children's playground. A few kilometres further, you can visit the charming mansion in Borša, which is known as the birthplace of František II Rákóczi, the important leader of the anti-Habsburg uprisings.
