Waterfalls of Háj

Not far from the road connecting the villages Háj and Hačava you will find a remarkable, naturally created place - Waterfalls of Háj, also called the Hlboký Jarok (deep ditch) Waterfalls . It is one of the most impressive corners of the Slovak Karst. The water flows here from a height of 1 to 7 metres, from travertine dams created by the Garádics Creek. In winter, the waterfalls often freeze to form beautiful ice walls and icicles. The Hájska Dolina valley separates the two easternmost plains of the Slovak Karst, namely the Zádiel Plain and the Jasov Plain.
