Chata Lajoška
Lajoška Chalet (also known as Predná Holica Chalet) is located at an altitude of 908 m above sea level directly on the ridge of the Volovské Hills, which are part of the picturesque Slovak Ore Mountains. Its history dates back to 1914. Since then, it has undergone several significant events and reconstructions, with the latest transformation starting in 2020. After a thorough renovation, the chalet was reopened in the autumn of 2023 – this time also offering accommodation and tasty refreshments for all visitors.
Lajoška is only 10.5 km as the crow flies from the edge of Košice, making it an ideal destination for day trippers and extended weekenders. It is open all year round and offers excellent conditions for hiking, cycling, and in winter also for cross-country skiing – as it is located directly on the route of the Košice Ski Highway and also on the Trail of the Slovak National Uprising Heroes, the longest and historically most important tourist highway in Slovakia, which follows the footsteps of resistance and heroism from the time of the Slovak National Uprising.
A unique experience is also the accommodation in three modern glass houses, which were built with the support of the Terra Incognita program. These stylish houses offer a unique view of the night sky and the surrounding forests, which will surely make your stay at Lajoška unforgettable.
