Watchtower

Enjoy the view of all the monuments of the historical centre of Rožňava, the Calvary and the whole Rožňava basin from the gallery of the Watchtower. The Renaissance tower was added to the original town hall in the 17th century and in the past it served a guard function, as evidenced by the preserved loop hole and a Turkish cannonball. The clock placed on the tower dates from 1858 and its clockwork was said to be one of the most accurate in the whole of Hungary. The tower of a height of 36.5 metres dominates Rožňava - a town with a view.
