Farský kostol všetkých svätých vo Veľkej Lodine
The Roman Catholic Church of All Saints in Veľká Lodina is a single-nave church with a rich history. It was originally built in the Baroque style in the second half of the 17th century, but after being damaged during the uprising of Francis II Rákóczi, it was restored in 1740 in the Late Baroque style. In 1893, the church received a new Neoclassical façade.
The dominant feature of the interior is the main altar from the end of the 19th century, depicting All Saints. The altar is decorated with statues of St. Peter and St. Paul, along with a Neo-Baroque tabernacle. In the sanctuary, there are also two side altars dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Virgin Mary, dating from 1908. The church furnishings are in Neo-Baroque and Neoclassical styles from the early 20th century.
The interior is covered with segmented and barrel vaults, and the sanctuary ceiling features a mural depicting the Ascension of Christ. Notable elements include a Baroque wooden baptismal font and a Baroque painting of the Holy Rosary. The church also contains polychrome Baroque statues of Our Lady of the Rosary and St. John of Nepomuk.
The church tower is divided by pilasters and finished with a pointed roof. The bell tower houses three bells: one from 1906 and two from 1922 made by bell founder Alojz Kurbel.
Visitors can also admire a Rieger organ (Opus 2502) from the 20th century, as well as other Neo-Baroque and Neoclassical interior elements, including pews from 1970 and colored reproductions of the Stations of the Cross.
