Tokaj & CO
The largest producer of Tokaj wines in Slovakia, Tokaj & CO, s.r.o., continues a tradition dating back to the 1960s. It is based in a historic tuff stone cellar in Malá Tŕňa, which is listed as a National Cultural Monument and belongs to the most valuable sites of the Tokaj wine region. The company was founded in 1999 when it took over the vineyards and cellars of the former state-owned Tokaj enterprise. Today, it manages more than 110 hectares of vineyards in the villages of Čerhov, Malá Tŕňa, Veľká Tŕňa, and Slovenské Nové Mesto. Traditional varieties such as Furmint, Lipovina, and Yellow Muscat are grown here, giving the wines their typical character.
Experience authentic Tokaj directly in the heart of the cellar. Visit a wine tasting in a historic 14th-century cellar. It is a unique place where more than 1,500 oak barrels, two tasting rooms, and a wine archive are hidden along 2.5 km of underground corridors. The atmosphere, the scent of wood, and the silence of the tuff passages create an unforgettable experience, enhanced by the explanation of an enologist. Tasting is possible only by prior reservation.
