Gundelfingerovsko-Pillerovský kaštieľ v Krompachoch

The Gundelfinger–Piller manor house in Krompachy, located on Zemanská Street, is a single-storey Baroque–Classicist building from the mid-18th century. It originally belonged to the Gundelfinger family, which had been managing mines and smelters in the Richnava area since the 16th century. Jeremias Gundelfinger from Nördlingen acquired two noble manor houses in Krompachy from the Thurzo family in 1592, and in 1727 the family built a manor house on the site of one of them. At the end of the 18th century, the manor was rebuilt, evidenced by the year 1797 on the tympanum above the main entrance.

The manor house has three projecting risalits, with the central one designed in the Empire style. In 1776, a chapel of St. John of Nepomuk was built into the perimeter wall of the manor. The last owner was Júlia Gundelfingerová, who, after the death of her first husband Július Gundelfinger, married Alexander Piller from Jaklovce. In 1919, Júlia Pillerová sold the manor, together with a small manor house, farmyard, and garden, to the town of Krompachy.

The building underwent several renovations, first between 1956–1959 and later between 1993–1998. The surrounding park is still known as Piller Park. Today, the manor houses the Piller guesthouse, offering accommodation in historically styled rustic rooms with a capacity of 25 beds and 12 extra beds.
