Remeselnícky (šafárov) dom v Gombaseku (Orbánov dom)

The Classicist craftsman’s house, also known as the Šafárov or Orbán House, is located in the cadastral area of Slavec (No. 137) in the Gombasek site. This serf house was built in the 19th century as part of the economic estate of the Andrássy manor, which also included the Rococo manor house of the Andrássy family.

The two-storey, basement building has a rectangular floor plan and a masonry structure with a gable roof and two opposite wooden gables. Its façades are simple and unadorned. On the upper floor there are narrow, slightly horseshoe-shaped windows with semi-circular lintels.

The entrance to the ground floor is covered by a wooden porch. On the opposite side of the building there is a small wooden balcony accessed by wooden stairs. The building was declared a national cultural monument in 1975 and is part of an educational trail in the Gombasek area, maintained by the NGO Sine Metu, which also organizes summer camps and manages the site.

Today, the ground floor houses the Mandevilla Café, while accommodation is available on the upper floor.
