Slnečné hodiny pre Herlianskom gejzíre
The Herľany Geyser is a natural phenomenon activated by human activity. Similar principles are also used in so-called analemmatic sundials. The exact time is determined by the position of celestial bodies, but it can only be read with the participation of a person. This artwork invites visitors to reflect on the passage of time as well as the patience required while waiting for the next eruption of the geyser.
The inscription is an excerpt from the poetry cycle Turgenev by Slovak poet Erik Jakub Groch. The artwork is located in the park next to the geyser in the village of Herľany, less than 30 kilometres from Košice.
