Zipline Gombasek

The wider surroundings of Gombasek, located in the village part of Slavec, boast several important caves and cultural monuments that attract visitors seeking relaxation throughout the year. The Zipline Gombasek project adds a missing element to this offer – an adrenaline experience. Together with the manor house and the new historical exhibition “A Treasure Lies Hidden There”, it is intended to encourage longer stays in the Gombasek area after the completion of accommodation facilities.

The longest zipline in the Košice Region

The zipline, approximately 500 metres long, connects the campsite with the area of the former monastery. The starting station is located directly in the campsite on a lookout tower. Visitors glide through the air across the entire complex to the final station near the remains of the historic Pauline monastery.

This sacred monument became part of the Gombasek educational trail in 2017 thanks to support from the Terra Incognita grant programme of the Košice Self-Governing Region.

Since 2016, the area has been developed and maintained by the Civic Association for the Development of Gombasek, which also cares for the ruins of the 14th-century Pauline monastery and a nearby bell tower serving as a viewpoint. The complex is continuously enriched with new infrastructure and services.

The Zipline Gombasek is currently under reconstruction. The expected reopening is July 2026.
