Kamenný most svätého Gottharda

The Stone Bridge of Saint Gotthard, measuring 70 metres in length and 5 metres in width, is a Gothic monument dating back to the 14th century, located west of the village of Leles. Originally, it spanned a now-vanished branch of the Tisza River known as the Tica. It is considered one of the oldest preserved stone bridges in Slovakia.

The bridge received its current name only after 1802, when the Premonstratensian monks returned from Bohemia to the abandoned monastery and installed a statue of Saint Gotthard on the bridge. The statue remained there until 1948, when it was removed. Following the Second World War, extensive water-management projects in the Eastern Slovak Lowland caused the watercourse beneath the bridge to dry up. In 1994, the bridge underwent a major restoration and remains an important historical and architectural landmark of the region.
