Mestský park v Trebišove

The City Park in Trebišov is an important historical space that reflects the social and cultural atmosphere of past centuries. Its origins date back to the last third of the 18th century, when it began to take shape in connection with the construction of the Trebišov manor house.

The park is located on the site of a former floodplain forest and has gradually become a place where significant cultural and historical monuments are concentrated. Among the most important are Parič Castle, the foundations of the medieval Church of the Holy Spirit, the Roman Catholic Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary, the Greek Catholic Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God, the Pauline monastery, the mausoleum of Count Július Andrássy, the Immaculata sculpture, and various archaeological finds from prehistoric and medieval times.

The park also has ecological importance for Trebišov, as it protects historical buildings and their surroundings from uncontrolled development while providing residents with a valuable natural environment rich in rare trees and greenery. In the center of the park is the lowland water castle Parič, which enhances the unique character of this place.
