Zejmarská roklina - skalolezenie a zimná turistika
One of the most sought-after routes in Slovak Paradise leads through the Slovak Paradise Educational Trail – South, which takes you through the irresistible Zejmarská Gorge, as well as Geravy, Malé Zajfy, and Stratenská píla. Zejmarská Gorge is one of the smallest gorges in Slovak Paradise, but the experience you get from it will definitely not be small.
Winter hiking
Zejmarská Gorge contains everything a proper gorge in paradise should have – ladders, incredible waterfalls, footbridges, and above all beautiful hidden corners, a deep rocky canyon, and steep ascents. All crowned by unique nature. This gorge is one of the shorter hiking trails in Slovak Paradise, and although it is steep, you can pass it relatively quickly. It is marked with a blue trail sign. Those who enjoy scrambling through nature will definitely have plenty of fun in Zejmarská Gorge. It has a completely different character compared to the well-known Suchá Belá Gorge. It is among the less demanding routes, but that does not take away from its attractiveness.
The trail runs above a stream. There is usually more snow here than in other southern parts of Slovak Paradise. At the entrance to the cascades of Nálepkov Waterfall, it is even better to use an ice axe for support. At the end, you will discover a viewpoint that is usually hidden in deciduous vegetation.
Winter ice climbing
In one of the smallest gorges in Slovak Paradise, you can experience one of the greatest winter adventures. For an ice-climbing tour, you will need climbing equipment. When you firmly and powerfully drive your ice axe into the frozen waterfall, you touch the authentic essence of one of nature’s most powerful elements. In this experience, you get everything a proper gorge can offer ice climbers – frozen waterfalls suspended in time and space, and views of the beautiful corners of a deep rocky canyon.
Of course, there are thinner, narrower, steeper, and sport-wise more demanding sections in Slovak Paradise, but perhaps Zejmarská Gorge is exactly the best challenge! So take your ice axe, ropes, helmet, and crampons, and start climbing the wall.
