1. General provisions
The operator of the websites www.kosiceregion.com, www.kosiceregion.travel (hereinafter the “website”), which also include the Košice región mobile application (hereinafter the “mobile application”), is the regional tourism organisation Košice Región Turizmus, with its registered office at Bačíkova 7, 040 01 Košice, Slovak Republic, organisation ID: 42319269 (hereinafter the “operator”).
Before using the website www.kosiceregion.com, www.kosiceregion.travel or the Košice región mobile application, users must familiarise themselves with and agree to the Terms of Use set out below. Use of the website or mobile application constitutes the user’s agreement to the Terms of Use. Users who do not agree to the Terms of Use are prohibited from continuing to use the website www.kosiceregion.com, www.kosiceregion.travel or the Košice región mobile application.
The operator reserves the right to amend these Terms, in whole or in part, as necessary or at its discretion. The operator will inform users of any such amendment by appropriate means, particularly by publishing the updated Terms on its website. In that case, the amendments will take effect on the date of publication on the website. Google Analytics uses cookies, which are text files stored on the user’s device that enable analysis of how the service is used. Information in the cookie about use of the website, including the user’s IP address and demographic and geographical indicators, will be transferred by Google to, and stored on, servers in the United States of America. Nor does the operator accept liability for any damage, loss or harm to hardware and/or software caused by computer viruses or malicious software that may infect the user’s device when using, accessing or downloading any content from the website or mobile application.
The website and mobile application may contain hyperlinks to websites operated by third parties. The operator accepts no responsibility whatsoever for their content or for access to them. Users access and use linked websites at their own risk.
The operator does not guarantee that the website www.kosiceregion.com, www.kosiceregion.travel and the Košice región mobile application will operate permanently, without interruption or free of errors. The operator reserves the right to change or modify the content of the website and mobile application at any time, or to suspend or discontinue their operation, without any obligation to inform users.
5. Newsletter
The operator offers users of the website www.kosiceregion.com, www.kosiceregion.travel and the Košice región mobile application the option to subscribe to the Košice región newsletter. The newsletter is a direct electronic marketing service sent by the operator to the email address provided by the user, on the basis of their express consent. It contains various kinds of information, travel tips, multimedia, event announcements and offers of trips organised by the operator or third parties.
The operator uses the third-party service MailChimp to send the newsletter. MailChimp enables the tracking of analytical data about email recipients (IP address, device language and recipient behaviour), which allows the operator of the website www.kosiceregion.com, www.kosiceregion.travel and the Košice región mobile application to assess the effectiveness of communication and carry out remarketing activities. Data relating to newsletter subscribers is stored on MailChimp’s servers in the United States of America and falls under the EU-US Privacy Shield programme, which meets the personal data protection requirements defined by the GDPR.
Users subscribe by completing the relevant field on the operator’s website or in its mobile application, providing their email address and consenting to receive the newsletter and to the processing of their personal data.
Users may unsubscribe at any time via the link in the footer of each email received or by sending an email to newsletter@kosiceregion.com.
6. Recommended browser extensions
Some documents and supplementary information provided by the operator for download are in PDF format. To display them correctly, users are advised to install the Adobe Reader PDF viewer, which can be downloaded from the website of Adobe Systems, Inc.
7. Final provisions
These Terms are governed by the applicable, generally binding laws of the Slovak Republic. Matters not regulated by these Terms are governed by the law of the Slovak Republic. Any dispute or claim arising from use of the website www.kosiceregion.com, www.kosiceregion.travel or the Košice región mobile application will first be addressed by agreement between the operator and the user. If no agreement is reached, either party may bring proceedings before the court with territorial jurisdiction in the Slovak Republic.
If any provision of these Terms conflicts with generally binding legislation or is declared invalid by a court, that provision will be removed. The remaining Terms will continue in full force and effect.
