Malá Bara Campsite
A modern rural campsite, which among campers carries adjectives such as "urban" or "hipster", where you can still stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The groups of visitors looking for a well-deserved rest among friends and families with small children will also find something to do here. The campsite features a mini farm, a playground, a buffet, and a wellness area, which is part of the residential Tokaj treetop houses. In the shade of the trees, in a pleasant relaxation area, there is a shared kitchen with a washing machine and facilities, a buffet, and a fireplace. The main building serves as a front desk, where you may find promotional materials of the Košice region, maps of the surrounding area, or other necessary information. In the same building, you will find superior sanitary facilities, heated in winter. 500 metres from the campsite in the Majer Bara area, you may ride horses, rent bikes, or have a tasty meal in the local restaurant. Among the superior services, it is worth mentioning that the Malá Bara campsite also serves as an information centre for the Tokaj region, with an option of being driven to wine tasting.
We recommend an easy cycling tour in Malá Bara and its surroundings, which will take you through the Tokaj vineyards, local marshes, to the tourist attractions, and historical landmarks. One of them is the route to Borša, to the Rákoczy Manor House, from where it is just a short hop to the lowest point in Slovakia, Klin nad Bodrogom. In the direction of Malá Tŕňa, you may visit the Tokaj lookout tower and on the way stop at one of the local wineries for a wine tasting.
Our tip: If you don't feel like walking too far, take the country road between meadows and fields to the nearby agrotourist area of Majer Bara, where you can have a tasty meal and ride on a horseback.
