Margitin prameň (Biela vyvieračka)
Silická Plateau hides a beautiful karst spring known as the White Spring (Biela vyvieračka), which is part of the Slovak Karst National Park. It is located by the road opposite the Gombasek Cave, and can be reached via a marked hiking and cycling trail about 1.5 km long from the village of Slavec, where a railway station is also located.
The ascent to the plateau towards the cave is quite demanding, and the refreshing spring water is especially welcome for hikers during the summer months.
The water of the White Spring emerges from a large slope scree, and the retaining wall below it once served as a water collection point. Springs like this are typical for limestone karst areas, and during the hike in this beautiful environment you may also encounter another spring called the Black Spring (Čierna vyvieračka).
