About the Winery
Ostrožovič Winery is a leader in Slovak Tokaj. This family-owned business, based in Veľká Tŕňa, has been dedicated to winemaking for over 35 years, focusing on quality, tradition, and a sustainable approach to nature. It owns 58 hectares of vineyards in the most prestigious locations of the Tokaj wine region – Makovisko, Chotár, and Vlčina. The vineyards are managed under integrated production methods, minimizing chemical use and prioritizing biodiversity preservation.
In its tufa cellars, wines mature using traditional Tokaj methods. The most prized treasures are the selective wines made from cibéb grapes, produced only in exceptionally favorable vintages. The region’s unique conditions, tufa subsoil, microclimate, and traditional craftsmanship give the wines a character unparalleled in Europe.
Wine Tastings
Wine tastings at Ostrožovič Winery are available year-round for groups of four or more. Smaller groups can join existing reservations. Tastings take place in a tufa cellar 13 meters underground, where constant temperature and natural humidity create ideal conditions. The cellar is covered with a specific mold, an integral part of Tokaj wine maturation. Various tasting packages are available based on the number of samples. The price includes a guided explanation of the history, production, and uniqueness of Tokaj wines. Entry to the cellar is not permitted for children under 15, but special access is available for mobility-impaired visitors via a personal lift.

● Penzión Tokaj and Tokaj 2
For wine lovers seeking an immersive Tokaj experience, the winery offers two accommodation options within its premises – Penzión Tokaj and Tokaj 2. These are comfortable facilities with modern amenities and a homely atmosphere.
● Tokaj House
Unique accommodation directly above the tufa cellar where the most precious wines mature. Ideal for passionate wine enthusiasts who want to be at the heart of the action – just steps away from the tasting area and wine history. It offers the same standard as other accommodations but with an exceptional atmosphere.
Relaxation in Tokaj
Guests staying at Penzión Tokaj can enjoy relaxation in a seawater pool heated by solar collectors (from May to October) and, from March 1, in a heated jacuzzi for 8 people. Evening swims with a glass of sparkling wine under the stars or with a view of the moon rising over Šandor Hill offer an unforgettable experience. Access to the pool and jacuzzi is unlimited and included in the stay.
